吳維剛，博士，教授、博士生導師，中山大學計算機學院副院長。
廣東省醫療大數據工程技術研究中心副主任、廣州市超算與大數據重點實驗室副主任。
中國計算機學會廣州分部委員，廣東省計算機學會常務理事，廣州市計算機學會副理事長。
分別于1998 年和2003 年在西安交通大學獲得學士和碩士學位，于2007 年在香港理工大學獲得博士學位。
2008年通過中山大學“百人計劃”加入計算機系。
2011年入選廣州市首屆“珠江科技新星”。
研究方向：
1. 區塊鏈與隱私計算：分布式共識機制、高性能區塊鏈、隱私計算
2. 分布式深度學習：深度學習分布并行優化、高性能深度學習、聯邦學習
3. 云計算與邊緣計算：云數據中心智能運維、多數據中心資源管理、車聯網邊緣智能
在理論研究和系統實現方面都有豐富的經驗和積累。在碩士研究生期間主要從事高性能計算系統的設計實現。作為主要成員參加了包括“８６３”重大專項在內的多個國家級項目的研究，其成果已經應用到相關企業的產品中。
在攻讀博士學位期間，主要從事移動分布式計算方面的工作，研究設計了多個高效的分布式協同算法，提高系統效率。博士后期間的工作主要是負責一個與華為公司合作的香港創新署項目，研究異構無線網絡間的無縫整合技術，實現面向Internet接入的無縫切換和移動管理。
加入中山大學以后，主要從事云計算與并行分布式處理方面的工作。在云計算與邊緣計算方面，致力于計算資源管理調度，研究設計了一系列面向虛擬化、數據管理的算法和協議，提高系統的資源效率，并面向車聯網環境研究智能化任務分配與調度技術；在并行處理與深度學習方面，研究深度學習的分布式訓練優化問題，通過通信隱藏、數據壓縮等技術提高大規模深度學習的計算效率和速度；在分布式共識與區塊鏈方面，通過共識過程優化、線下事務處理等技術提高區塊鏈系統的并發能力和效率。
已在國際主要學術期刊和會議上發表論文100 多篇，頂級論文20余篇。主持包括國家重點研發計劃課題、國家自然科學基金面重點項目等各層次科研項目20余項。
