| The Data Science Institute is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to the AI and Data Science theoretical and applied research activities, including delivering the recently funded DP, CRC-P and ARC LIEF projects, securing external competitive grants, conducting industry projects in the new joint UTS- Providence's Smart Future Research Centre (SFRC) and HDR supervision, with a focus on applying smart technologies (e.g., AI and data science) to the areas of renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and food. The Data Science Institute has deep experience in helping businesses and governments unleash value from their data that supports evidence-based decisions. We deliver practical, innovative solutions to solve real-world challenges. The position will be based at the centrally located UTS Campus in Ultimo and will report directly to Professor Guandong Xu. 1. About the role The role actively contributes to the strategic research portfolio and industry engagement of the Data Science Institute in FEIT. • Research Higher Degree student supervision. • Produce high quality research publications. • Industry engagement and project delivery, especially customer behaviour analytics, user profiling, and broader AI applications in financial and e-commerce sectors. • Obtaining competitive research grants and industry research funding. • Public presentations. 2. About you • A PhD in a computer science, data science discipline relevant to the Institute and School. • A strong research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research in the discipline or area of data mining, data science and analytics. • Active engagement in professional activities, including organizing international conference and reviewing prestigious conferences and journals. • Demonstrated ability to publish in leading conferences and journals and undertake AI and data analytics research, interdisciplinary research and empirical research. • A developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders, and the ability to forge links with industry/key stakeholders. 3. Salary Base Salary Range: $109,285 to $129,345 pa (Level B) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
